Garnet is the birthstone for January and celebrates the 2nd wedding anniversary. There is more than one red version of the stone, so there are many red tones that are beautiful that not many people have been able to take notice of. The reality is the more gorgeous the stone the more money it will cost. Garnet has over 20 species with only 5 being of interest. These 5 are broken into different gemstone grades and names. Garnet is one of the few stones that doesn't receive any treatments to enhance its beauty. It comes in a wide range of colors such as green, yellow, orange, color-changing, purplish-red, and pink.
