DENDRITIC AGATE
A form of chalcedony quartz known as dendritic agate is a stone that is transparent, colorless to whitish-gray, and is easily identified by its distinctive tree-like patterns, known as dendrites. Dendrites are most frequently brown to black in hue. Despite the fact that it is technically not a true agate since it lacks the usual banding of other agate stones, it is one of the rarest and more prized forms of agate stone. Dendritic agate is one of the rarer and more sought-after varieties of agate. While some agate species classifications are based on inclusions, mining regions, or geographic origins, others are based on optical characteristics. Plain cuts are common for dendritic agate, particularly as cabochons. The most popular shape is a free-form slab, and other shapes include ovals, pears, and rounds. Due to the fact that dendrites originate at different depths, cutting dendritic agate can be challenging since doing so involves expert removal of surface layers.
